On Your Faith Journey
You’ve no doubt heard tag lines for the Holy Land like “Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus” and “Making the Bible come alive”. While these phrases are completely accurate, they cannot make you understand the depth and scope of feelings that will encompass you as you take this journey. The Holy Land will heighten your emotions, and bring upon a spiritual awareness that is almost inexplicable.
You may feel overwhelming joy as you step into the grotto of the Nativity and touch the very place the Blessed Virgin Mary gave birth to our Saviour. You may feel a profound sense of sorrow when you lay your hands on the Column of Flagellation where Jesus was scourged and tortured. You may feel an incredible sense of awe when you sit on the Mount of the Beatitudes and realize that it is the exact vista the disciples gazed upon while listening to our Lord. However the Spirit works within you, embrace what you are feeling, and have the most profound spiritual experience you can have.
Whether you have a vague recollection of childhood bible stories, or have every verse of Holy Scripture memorized, the Holy Land will bring you closer to Christ, wherever you are on your faith journey.
